Sept.-2002
Unlimited Outdoors customer Richard Denijs with a nice buck taken in Alameda, California
Hey Mike, Right after we got done talking on the phone Monday I got my new Matrix
sight and release from UPS and spent about an hour dialing it in. I've got to say, the sight
and the Tru-Fire rotating head release is bad ass and the way they both worked out for me
is sweet. Like I said, I practiced Monday evening and a little bit Tuesday morning and went
on a hunt Wednesday after work about 20 minutes from my office in San Leandro. I was on
my way down to a tree stand when this 4 x 3 was standing and staring up at me at around 40
yards. I froze, and about a ½ minute later a doe comes along from the side of me at about 20 yards out and the buck starts walking right towards me and then starts angling to the doe.
I was with the property owner who was standing behind me and he lets out three bleats to try
to get the buck to stop and it finally did. I figured him at about 30-35 yards (no range finder
since the property owner said I didn't need one) and put it right through his "central pump
station". The gladiators tore him up. It went through the lower right rib cage, putting two x's
through the top portion of the heart and a giant exit wound on the left rib cage.  Needless to
say, he went less than 10 feet. Anyway, thought you might like to see a picture of what our
bucks look like in the Bay Area.
Thanks for getting me my order! Richard deNijs. Antioch, CA

Host Mike Wahl and Co Host Ken Tarr of Unlimited Outdoors TV with a Nice Russian Boar

I took this Russian Boar in the Stony Gorge Reservoir area of Northern California. This area is north of Sacramento, about 1 hour, on the West side of the upper Sacramento Valley west of Maxwell, CA. He weighed 220 pounds. Pictured from left to right are: Mike Wahl (me) and Ken Tarr, my hunting partner. This was in April with a very heavy, ground level, cloud cover. Visibility was about 100 yards. I shot this boar with a Savage Rifle in .270 caliber with a 150 grain Nosler Partition bullet. I shot him at about 75 yards in the opening of a very brushy draw.

Host of Unlimited Outdoors TV Mike Wahl with a great 4X4 Blacktail Buck

This buck was taken by me, Mike Wahl, (Owner), on Sept 7, 2002 at our ranch here in Penn Valley, CA (about 1 hour northeast of Sacramento, CA. I used an 80# Alpine Teton Lite with a Cobra sight, Bodoodle Pro 500 Lite rest, Gold Tip Hunter 75/95 arrows fletched with AAE Elite 4" vanes, Winners Choice bowstring, Gold Tip Gladiator 100 grain broadheads, Truball Single ball release.
The shot was 27 yards and I hit him 2 ribs back from the elbow. He only went 40 yards straight down a cliff. It was fun 2 hour drag up the cliff by myself. He weighed 252 pounds on the hoof. His rack is 29" wide and 22" tall.

Co Host of Unlimited Outdoors TV and Owner of The Hunters Blind Rod Akin with a good 5X5 Mule Deer Hybrid BuckThis beautiful 225 pound 5 X 5 Mule Deer Buck was taken by Rod Akin the owner of The Hunters Blind. He harvested this buck with a Savage .308 from about 150 yards with a match 165 grain bullet. He had hunted VERY hard all year in local areas with no luck at all. When the last day of the season came he decided to stay home and get some chores done when he noticed the young Willow trees at the end of his property were swinging rapidly back and forth. He grabbed his binoculars and saw what he thought was an OK buck rubbing on the trees. He ran into the house and grabbed the first rifle he could grab, threw in a couple of rounds and rested the rifle on an archery target in the front of the pasture. BANG season over!! (Do you see the tree stand ladder on the Oak tree in the background?) NICE BUCK
