#1-PIST-P145 / Piston Point

Piston Point Broadheads are uniquely engineered with an aerodynamic front tip and a rear cylinder that are connected by a solid, stainless steel piston shaft. When in flight the razor sharp blades straddle the rear cylinder, allowing the broadhead to fly through the air like a field tip. When the tip touches the target, the rear cylinder thrusts all the shafts inertia forward, throwing the blades fully open and locked into position. Each broadhead has three blades with a thickness of .039 and a 1.5" cutting diameter. Package of three.  $39.89

Piston Point FAQ

1) Can Piston Point Broadheads be used again after shooting an animal?
A. Absolutely! After harvesting your animal, we recommend that you clean any blood, hair, or other debris from the broadhead and replace the blades to assure you have razor sharp blades for your next hunt.

2) Do the flex-bands break after each shot?
A. Definitely not! Piston Point Broadheads are designed with a small notch on the back side of blades, making it easy for the flex-bands to roll back onto the shaft without breaking. We also include nine flex-bands in every retail pack in case one is lost or broken after extensive shooting into targets.

3) Does it take a lot of kinetic energy to open the blades to the 1.5" cutting diameter?
A. Not at all! The only thing holding the blades in the closed position is the flex-band. When you hit an animal, the hair alone initiates the opening of the blades from the rear and rolls the flex-band back off of the blades notches and onto the arrow shaft. Without the flex-band, the weight of the tip alone will even expand the blades into the 1.5" locked cutting position.

4) Will Piston Point Broadheads deflect on angled shots like other mechanical heads?
A. No. Our blades expand from the rear, which means there is no catapulting effect needed to open the blades like other mechanicals. With our patented "Hammer Impact" rear blade expansion, Piston Point Broadheads basically turn into a fixed blade broadhead on contact. This gives you all of the advantages of fixed blade heads, but with much better in-flight aerodynamics and a devastating 1.5" cutting diameter.

5) Can you shoot Piston Point Broadheads into foam targets?
A. Yes. We have engineered our blades to fold forward for easy removal from any target. This also categorizes the Piston Points as a non-barbed broadhead.

6) Will the piston portion of the broadhead rust?
A. No. All components on Piston Point Broadheads are made of either solid stainless steel or anodized aircraft aluminum to prevent rusting. The tolerances around the shaft are also extremely tight, so very little or no water should ever get into this area.
